explain why psychic reading is
dangerous? I been trying to
convince my 82 year old mother that
its wrong.

Since the fall of man, people (includin

many professing
Christians)
have
sought psychic reading for
spiritual advice. The holidays going
into the new year is often the busiest
time of the year for psychic readers. The desire for clarity
and insight and the need to make sense
of the turmoil of everyday life and find
peace in the spiritual world is a
constant enticement based on false
promises.
A Psychic is a person with alleged
supernatural or paranormal powers used
to gain hidden knowledge. This is also
known as divination (Deuteronomy
18: 10-12).
People often rely on psychics because of
their manipulative trickery. However,
The historical record of psychics is
plagued with innumerable cases of
obvious fraud.
The Bible warns of "seducing spirits"
and "doctrines of devils" (I
Timothy 4:1). The most
valuable asset to the psychic is the
securing of one's faith. Thus, they own
the subject. The Psychic world
is instigated and cultivated by Satan.
Though this is not always obvious to the
undiscerning eye (2
Cor. 11:14).
Deuteronomy 18: 10-12 is a clear warning
and command to reject any and all
counsel or advice that is void of
biblical authority. This includes
psychic reading.
Joyce, your mother would be best served
by presenting the Word of God to her.

Ultimately, your mother needs Jesus
Christ. Present the gospel to her with
an emphasis on a decision for Christ and
trust that God by His Holy Spirit will
convict and convert her.
