Psalm 27
THE
GREATEST DISCOVERY KNOWN TO THE HUMAN
MIND
There
Are Two Major Discoveries For Humanity
That Can Be Realized:
#1. GOD IS OUR SUFFICIENCY -
VS.1
A. I CAN SEE - vs.1a ...light...
... NOTE VERSE 13...
THE only BLIND PEOPLE ARE THOSE WHO
WON'T SEE
THE MOST IMPORTANT THING YOU CAN
PERCEIVE IS:
GOD CAN NEVER BE LESS THAN GOD.
B.
I CAN BE - vs.1b
<> Be-Bold - ...whom shall I fear...
<> Be-Hold - ...the strength.../DEFENSE
Note: vs.4 ...behold the beauty...
<> Be-Told - ...my life... Your
life is not your own. Will You Accept
That Fact?
-----------------------------------
The second greatest discovery is
realizing:
#2. OUR IN-SUFFICIENCY -
IS SEEN IN THAT:
a. We Can Be Attacked - vs.2,3 -
By Death/Devil/
b. We Must Be Made To Be Attracted
- Note vs. 4 & 8
As Christians, we must be made to be
attracted to God. We are not sufficient
in ourselves to this end.
-
Note: The Holy Spirit Stimulates
An ATTRACTION TO:
a. God Is Exalted: vs.4c. ...the
beauty of the Lord...
Ps 46:10 Be still, and know that I am
God: I will be exalted among the
heathen, I will be exalted in the earth.
Isaiah 33:5 The LORD is exalted; for
he dwelleth on high: he hath filled Zion
with judgment and righteousness.
b. God Is Not Exhausted- vs.7
CANNOT EXHAUST HIS ATTENTION
Ps 121:3 He that keepeth thee will not
SLUMBER
---------------------------------------
If We Will Discover The Reality That God
Is Our Sufficiency,
and that we are In-sufficient in
ourselves... We can then make proper
application to God's Will - Note Verse
14
14a. Engage God -
Hebrews 4:16
14b. Encouraged By God -
Joshua 1:7, 8
14c. Endure Because of God -
Galatians 6:9
The
world is filled with countless voices,
all vying for our attention and
affection. The truth is: there is
nothing more attractive than the grace
of God. It is only the grace of God that
grows us to a steady satisfaction with
the will of God. The sure way of growing
influenced by the grace of God is by the
Word of God.
Rather than relying upon Scripture to
grow assured of God's favor, many
believers use their own preferences as
the litmus test for significance. This
is always a tragic mistake, because our
fleshly desires are simply not
trustworthy. Our personal preferences
will ebb and flow, but the Word of God
is forever unchanging and therefore
continually reliable. The grace of God
will have you singing: Glory to God in
the highest even when we are at lowest.
Amen!
There is no greater discovery than the
Sufficiency of God's Grace.
Sincerely, Dr. Arthur Belanger
