Does
God Allow For Racially Mixed
Marriages?
Dear Dr. Belanger, Does God's Word
provide in
sight
on inter-racial marriages?
Good question!
The Bible does not condemn racially
mixed marriages. It does however, argue
fervently against religiously mixed
marriages (2
Corinthians. 6:14,15).
When the whole question is answered
categorically from the scripture...
I find no SCRIPTURE which condemns
inter-racial marriage. Thus, it is
not a sin to marry when the difference
is simply one of race, or height, or
income, or nationality, unless it is a
mixed marriage in the sense of RELIGION.
However, disregarding race in marriage,
would be unwise. It does have
consequences. It MIGHT create continuous
difficulties. While inter-racial
marriage is biblically acceptable where
there is religious unity, it is wise to
be prepared for stereo-type insinuations
that may strain one's effectiveness in
serving the Lord. Marriage is a
glorious experience when in the will of
God; even when racially mixed.
When marriage is one's option: They must
ask... Will this marriage glorify God?
If yes... Then Marry!
Sincerely, Dr. Arthur Belanger
