The influential scribes and Parisees were aggressive with a pattern of false judgment about themselves, other people and the Lord Jesus Christ. Christ confronts this danger as He presents a trio of judgments.

1. Judge Ourselves - vs.1,5 - Why?
a. We Shall Be Judged - Externally - vs.1
b. We Are Being Judged - Eternally - vs.2
c. We Are To Judge - Internally - vs.3,4

2. Judging Others - vs.6,20

<> Practice Godliness - vs.12
<> Preach God's Will - vs.13,20

3. Judged By God - vs.21,29
a. Judging Our Works - vs.21
b. Judging Our Words - vs.22
c. Judging Our Worth - vs.23
d. Judging Our Worship - vs.24,29
True worship of God is habitual faith in God (Prov.3:5,6).

Chapter seven is essential in that it provides insight into our need to be honest about ourselves with God and others. Honesty is the strength to durability.
