Charles H. Spurgeon was asked the
question "what
should
be done about people who fall asleep
during church?" Spurgeon replied, "WAKE
UP THE PREACHER!"
National
politicians are passionately suggesting
America is in need of change and reform.
However, the real change needed is
national repentance. This is where
the Christian comes on the scene.
America cannot afford for Christians to
remain asleep. More often than not, many of us are in a
constant state of do's and don'ts while
nothing gets done. Perhaps the main
reason for this pattern is an ignorance
of the Word of God or just simply
ignoring it. The only way a Christian can
be seriously and favorably committed to
the gospel ministry is to allow the Holy
Spirit of God to exact with certainty
the worthiness of the Lamb Of God, the
Lord Jesus Christ.
Our
commitment to the gospel ministry is not
to be housed in a sentimental trophy
case only to be admired when on the
trail of self-pity. The Christian must
awake to an understanding that the
gospel to all the world is the only
commitment worthy of God's blessing.
America's blessings stems from God's
blessings on Christians.
Sincerely, Dr. Arthur Belanger
