Jesus Loves Even Me
Philip Bliss was a dynamic hymn
writer and s
ong
leader, and contemporary of Moody and
Sankey. During the many evangelistic
crusades that he was in involved in, he
noticed that the
hymn Oh, How I Love Jesus was sung very
often. After one night he started to
consider the song and started to instead
think not of his POOR love for Jesus but
instead of Jesus GREAT love for him.
That evening he wrote the hymn "Jesus
Loves Even Me." I'm sure that there
are many songs that Bliss today is
singing in Heaven,
but he finally was able to tell Jesus
face to face, "O what a wonder that You
love me," when he died in a train
accident at the age of 38.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
I am so glad
that our Father in heav'n tells of His
love in the Book He has giv'n;
Wonderful things in the Bible I see -
This is the dearest, that Jesus loves
me.
Tho
I forget Him and wander away, still He
doth love me wherever I stray;
Back to His dear loving arms would I
flee, when I remember that Jesus loves
me.
O if
there's only one song I can sing, when
in His beauty I see the great King,
This shall my song in eternity be: "O
what a wonder that Jesus loves me!"
I am
so glad that Jesus loves me, Jesus love
me, Jesus loves me;
I am so glad that Jesus loves me, Jesus
loves even me.
