When
To Be Jealous?
One's
fellowship with Jesus Christ is to be
guarded with a stern jealousy (Romans
12:1,2). Not to do so would
lead us down a path of staleness and a
begrudging spirit toward mundane task
assigned to us in life. The fact
is, many of us are not joyful Christians
because we are often jealous or envious
for things verses being spiritually
minded for God. A biblical
jealousy cries out against the beggarly
elements of this world that entice us to
conform to a vain mentality of
self-sufficiency (Romans
12:3) which produces a perpetual
state of complaining.
There is nothing more
precious to a spiritually minded
believer than that of glorifying God (1
Corinthians 10:31). Purpose to
flee any temptation that provokes a
competitive and combative spirit with
the indwelling Holy Spirit (Ephesians
4:30).
A state of
godly jealousy for Jesus Christ is key to victory
and joy.
Sincerely, Dr. Arthur Belanger
