Gospel Of Matthew
Chapter Four
is the Chapter of Exaltation

Chapter
four demonstrates that Satan is m
ore eager to tempt you with things
that you can control verses the things
you cannot control. Satan
always tempts us to justify why we
should sin. It is the devil's
desire for individuals to exert
self-exaltation for one's own
glorification. This is
exactly the pattern he used against Eve
in the garden and with Jesus in the
wilderness.
1.
Satan is a Liar -
vs.1,11
a. Satan is a Deceiver - vs.1
b. Satan is Defeated - vs.2,11
2. Jesus Is Lord
-
12,25
a. The Light To All- 12,16
b. The Right To Call - 17 Only Christ Can Make The Right Call:
Notice The Threefold Call:
1. The Call To Repent - 17
2. The Call To Renounce - 18,22
3. The Call To Redemption - 23,25
With Jesus as our example and the Bible
As God's explanation, we are afforded
surety of God's power and presence over
the environment (vs. 1a), the enemy
(vs.1b), and the enticement (vs.3).
Sincerely,
Dr. Arthur Belanger
