Sinners
have no ability to atone for thei
r sin. This requires a perfect
sacrifice by someone who is perfect,
namely, Jesus Christ. God is holy, thus,
requiring judgment for sin. Christ Jesus
became our substitute. He bore God's
judgment that was due us. Chapter Two leaves a clear impression that God means business... He came to
save (period).

Verse twenty encompasses His death and
His departure back to heaven.

The theme of God's
Word is Jesus Christ Crucified, God
Satisfied, The Believing Sinner
Justified.
