The gospel of Jesus Christ is not a matter of debate or to be disputed. Mark waist no time in getting to the issue: The Gospel of Jesus Christ.

Chapter One - Jesus Is Lord.

1. Jesus Is The Son of God - vs,1,8 As Seen By:
a. The Pronouncement - vs.2a ...it is written...
b. The Prophets - 2b ...in the prophets...
c. The Preparation - 2c ...prepare...
d. The Preaching - 3,8 ...the voice...

2. Jesus Is Sent By God - vs.9,13
a. His Appearance -vs.9
b. His Authority - vs.10
c. His Approval - vs.11

a. He Commands - vs.14,34

Right from the beginning, Mark makes it obvious, Jesus is to be taken seriously. If Jesus Christ is not Lord, nothing matters. Because He is Lord, He is all that matters.


Mark Chapter Two  - The Chapter of Offers

1. Jesus Offers Forgiveness - vs.1-12
a. The Fortitude of Forgiveness - vs.1,4
b. The Fortunes of Forgiveness - vs.5,12
<> A New Life - vs.5,11
Note: A New Life that was Fought For Us - vs.6,9
Note: A New Life That was Bought For Us - vs.10
Note: A New Life That was Brought To Us - vs.11

<> A Now Life - vs.12a ...immediately he arose...
Salvation is not achieved over time... It is received instantly.

2. Jesus Offers Fulfillment - vs.13,22
a. He Confides To Us- vs.13 ...he taught...
b. He Resides With Us - vs.14,17
c. He Abides Within us - vs.18,19
d. He Died For Us - vs.20,22
Verse twenty encompasses His death and His departure back to heaven.
e. He Hides Us In Him - vs.23,28

Chapter Two leaves a clear impression that God means business... He came to save (period).

 

Mark Chapter Three  - The Chapter of endless hope in the face of a hopeless end.

1. The Fortitude of Jesus - vs.1-6
a. The Miracle Of Jesus - Jesus Is Involved - vs.1-5
b. The Malice Against Jesus - Jesus Is Resolved - vs.5,6

2. The Forwardness of Jesus - vs.7-12
a. He Commits His Disciples - vs.7,9
b. He Converts Many - vs.10
c. He Commands Demons - vs.11,12

3. The Followers Of Jesus - vs.13,19
a. The Number Of Them - vs.13,14
b. The News From Them - vs.14b,15
c. The Names Of Them - vs.16,19

4. The Fighting Against Jesus - vs.20-30
a. His Friends Fought Against Him - vs.21
b. His Foes Fought Against Him - vs.22,30
<> They Used Intimidation - vs.22a ...the scribes...
<> They Used Accusations - vs.22b

5. The Family Of Jesus - vs.31,35
a. His Earthly Family - vs.31,32
b. His Eternal Family - vs.33,35
