Fallen Angels - The Biblical Facts
Tradition and history are unable to
provide an accurate picture of fallen
angels (demons) and their
involvement and influence in mans
history. The Bible is the only
authority on the truth about fallen
angels.
Angels
are referenced a total of 273 times in
the Bible. Angels, like everything
else in this universe were made by God
(Colossians 1:16). Angels were
created prior to the creation of the
earth (Job
38:1,7).
According to
Revelation 12:3,4, Satan was able to
persuade on third of heaven's angels to
side with him in his rebellion against
God. From that point on the
faithful angels are referred to as holy
and elect angels (1
Timothy 5:21), while the fallen
angels are known as the devil's angels (Revelation
12:9). Fallen angels are
invisible spiritual beings.
However, on occasion they do manifest
themselves (Revelation
9).
The
activities of fallen angels is very much
alive today. They oppose God's
purpose (Ephesians
6:12) by executing Satan's programs
through disseminating false doctrine and
afflicting human beings.
The
future of fallen angels is one of gloom
and doom. They along with Satan
will be cast into the lake of fire (2
Peter 2:4).
Fallen
angels are very real. Our only
resistance against fallen angels
is the knowledge of God's Word and
submission to the will of God (Ephesians
6:10,18)
