Book Of Haggai
Governed By Priorities
Rebuilding the temple is the primary
theme of Haggai. However, it was
not of a personal concern for many of
God's people. Haggai emphasizes
the importance of a finished temple as a
reflection of their obedience to God.
An unfinished or neglected temple would
be at their own peril. Likewise,
our bodies are the temple of God and
must be cared for in a manner that is
pleasing to God.

Many
Christians are very discouraged because
they lack a sense of accomplishment or
success in their service for Christ.
Success as a goal is a cruel slave
master masquerading in a deep rooted
and subtle display of pride. There
is only one thing a Christian can
succeed in: Faith in God (Hebrews
11:6). Faith in God acknowledges
the faithfulness of the living God.
Success is a finite treasure.
Sanctification by the grace of God is a
treasure of eternal value. This is
what Haggai emphasized in his assignment
and message to God's people.
